A Not So Lonely Irish Man

There was once this old Irish man. His name was Jack. He is originally from Greenland. His family moved to America when he was only 7 years old. They had moved there to start a new life. Jack always loved traveling and visiting new places. But, he wasn’t so sure if he wanted to move away from Greenland forever. He loved his home that sat right on the top of a hill. Even though it got really cold there, he didn’t mind it that much. He was used to it.

Once Jack and his family arrived, he started to view it differently. He saw that America had other things that his old home did not. The house that his family had moved into was nothing that he had seen before. It had enough room for him to play around in. That’s all that really mattered to jack, he was 7 after all.

Now that little boy who loved America still does. Jack is now about 60 years old. He has a long grey beard and short grey hair. Now that he is losing some of his eyesight, he now wears round- framed glasses. He is wearing a baby blue shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Along with that he is wearing a tan hat with a round brim. He is also wearing an apron.

He is wearing that apron because; he works at a place called, The Grill at Smucker’s. But, he was now sitting at a table, talking on his cell phone. Jack is still full of life. He lives each day like it’s his last. Having just moved to Philadelphia, he hasn’t seen much. He barely even knows anyone. Jack decides that today will be the day that he is going to go out exploring. He what’s to see what this city has to offer.

Jack decides that he is going to go to the Philadelphia Museum of Arts. That sounds like a good place to go, he says to himself. He has always loved art, even as a little boy. Once he gets there, he can’t believe all of the beautiful artwork. Jack has always wanted someone to share his passion with. But, he has never met anyone who understands him. Until he hears someone behind say, “Beautiful isn’t it”? He turns around to see a woman standing behind him, with long brown hair.

The woman’s name is Anna. Jack and Anna walk around the museum for the rest of the time. They talk about art and even tell each other some things about themselves. They really like each other. Later that night Jack takes Anna out for dinner. They talk for hours. Who knows what can happen next.
