Ode to Lotion

Luminous and pure,
Quencher of thirst and deprivation,
Faintly your scent flutters,
Like wings through a garden,
Livening flowers about to wilt away,
Shooting up through new green stems,
Carrying yourself through the air,
And harkening the rain.

Seeping into skin,
Like a pool of fallen perfume,
Healing problems and soothing conflicts,
A soft-spoken friend,
Who cares only to be accepted,
Taken in,
And held by the light,
That reflects deep,
Through a smooth surface.
